"Being involved with the #MAQuest has opened more that multitude of opportunities. I have travelled to 2 Asian destinations as an Australian representative and some very inspirational women working to change the face of cancer and it's devastating effects.
I encourage all women to join the quest as it is the only quest in Australia that is open to women of all ages, backgrounds and status. Thank you to the #MAQuest for helping to make a difference."

Jennifer Hunt
"Thank you to the #MAQuest for all the opportunities of self development, health education, community engagement experience, event and charity experience, modelling and hosting experience, video and filming experience, travel opportunities and job opportunities. Your quest has provided me with some of the best experiences and friendships of my life. I've visited, China, South Africa, Nigeria and the Philippines all thanks to you. You are the most wonderful people I have ever met. Look forward to more ventures with you! If you want to be the best person you can be and make a difference in your community, I recommend the quest, no matter what age you are!"

Karen Miles
"Thank you to Karen Sabarre and the Mrs Australia Quest!  It has been such a thrill to be involved in the Quest.  My life has changed in so many ways, on a personal level with increased self confidence, awareness of my strengths and abilities, so many opportunities to utilise my skills, and the amazing satisfaction you feel when you organise a successful event in your community and attract the media to your work.

When I registered to join the Quest I also signed up to a Curves gym to focus on my health and to be in the best physical condition in preparation for the catwalk!  I have always been afraid of gyms but not anymore.  For the first time in my life I've made my health a priority, I've cut junk food out of my diet, and as a result I feel so much stronger and more confident.

Since joining the Quest I've also been signed by a modeling agency - something I would never have thought I could do!  It was also such a brilliant day when I secured an appearance and interviews for all four Title winners on Ch 7's Sunrise program and The Morning Show - what a high!  Being in the Quest changes your world - it pushes you out of your comfort zone and takes your life to another level.

Raising funds and awareness for such a vital cause as ovarian cancer has been a privilege; I just never knew it could also bring wonderful friendships, new communities of support, and so many opportunities to make a difference. What an experience and honour this has been - thank you!"

Before joining the Mrs Australia Quest, I could count my friends on one hand; now I’ve lost count!  So many selfless people have carried me on their shoulders with their support and encouragement to enable me to raise much‑needed funds for Ovarian Cancer awareness.  I feel honoured that I have been able to play a part in helping to save the lives of women and girls across our nation.  I have met the real heroes of this story, the survivors and the families who have lost loved ones to this silent killer.  Without the Quest, I would never have had the opportunity to meet these beautiful people.

I would like to thank the Mrs/Ms Australia Quest for the privilege of being part of such a life changing journey.  My self esteem and self confidence has grown through this quest and I have realised I am capable of more than I thought. Championing the cause of Ovarian Cancer has been both rewarding and challenging, I feel so burdened by those awful statistics to do what I can to raise money & awareness to help turn the tide. My heart goes out the 800 Australian families every year who lose amazing mothers, wives, daughters and grandmothers to Ovarian Cancer. I hope in some way to help prevent other families from living through your pain,  my prayers are with you.

How do I begin to say thank you to everyone involved in organising the Mrs Australia Quest, words can’t describe how great this amazing journey has been. I am a better, stronger, happier & more focused person now because of what I have learnt in the Mrs Australia Quest. I will be forever grateful and thankful to the Mrs Australia Quest. So thank you MAQ for everything you have given me.

My experience with Mrs World Australia and promoting awareness of ovarian cancer, has given me inspiration to become a more active participant within the community, I have found people to be so open, supportive and willing to help in creating the awareness about ovarian cancer, not only to women but to all people. I believe all entrants have achieved so much in providing awareness about ovarian cancer in such a short time. Therefore the event can only get bigger and better and I am positive our good work will translate into saving lives. I encourage all married women to participate in the Mrs World Australia, the benefits are endless.

Thankyou to Mrs World Australia 2009 for giving me this opportunity to change and realise myself, and in doing so, hopefully change something much more important; Australian Women's awareness of Ovarian Cancer and it's early signs. This will in turn, change those staggering statistics we all now realise. I sincerely hope this message of awareness is spread further, across the globe on an international scale. I believed we have all proved that "it doesn't end here". We have shown how much we have to give, and we HAVE made a difference. We are strong, beautiful, intelligent and courageous! But we are by no means "the best". Many Australian women do what we do. All the juggling, all the care and love-giving. We are just a privileged few, given the opportunity to showcase Australian women, the Australian female spirit and to send the message which should be carried forward, and cause Change.

I found this competition to be an interesting and exciting once off experience. Ive seen there are beautiful, wonderful and inspirational competitiors, all unique but in it for the same reasons and making a difference and a helpful team behind it all. This competition has also enabled me to see all the people that are there to support and encourage me and make a difference. We have all won in our own way and have on the way learnt alot more about ourselves. Im sure were all just happy to have been participants. Hopefully we have inspired other women to give anything a go and that no matter your age, your marital status or the number of or age of your children you can go for your own goals and make a difference somewhere. I would like to thank everyone that has voted for me and for also spreading awareness- my husband/kids, sister in law/husband and her colleagues, my best friend vi,my mum,friends...

Mrs World Australia has been such a positive, rewarding and worthwhile experience for me, as it has given me an opportunity to better myself. It has definitely helped and encouraged me to gain self awareness, self-confidence, individual pride and great social awareness. I was able to stand up for my beliefs, found issues I feel strongly about and became involved in organisation and cause that speak to my heart ... the 'Ovarian Cancer Australia'. Mrs World Australia pageant left me a little more prepared to deal with the world around me and more importantly to deal with the world ahead of me. This definitely did not encourage myself to just 'win the pageant' (although it would be great) but it definitely helped me develop life skills that will ultimately help me 'Win in Life' by being the best that I can be in everything I do. It has been a pleasure being a part of Mrs World Australia 2009 Pageant and to all the other finalists, you are all beautiful inside and out. Good luck to all on an exciting journey!

“Completing the essay component was not a choir but quite a lovely opportunity to sit and reflect on my beliefs and goals. As a busy working mother, I often feel that I don’t get the opportunity for self reflection. So completing the essays gave me a great chance to think about how I felt about some very important issues in my life. Completing the essay on marriage has actually been great within my marriage as I talked through my ideas with my husband and at one point it brought a tear to his eye. It’s great to have put down in words how much he means to me.” “Having the opportunity to learn more about Ovarian Cancer and speaking to others about the need for awareness and early detection has been an eye opener. I, and many of my friends and colleagues, were unaware of the insidious nature of this particular cancer and I am hopeful that my efforts have helped raise awareness for the need to support such a great charity as Ovarian Cancer Australia .” “The organizers of the Mrs World Australia quest, Lets Talk Entertainment, have been nothing but professional and supportive throughout the whole process. It has been very clear and concise the requirements and I have been able to make contact at any time to ask questions if needed.”

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Mrs World Australia experience. I know it has given me the chance to contribute to my community and help raise much needed awareness for Ovarian cancer. I am so pleased to have been involved with such a worthwhile cause, that has allowed me to gain more confidence not only as a person, but as a spokesperson for a disease that often goes unnoticed. It is important for women to know that symptoms of this disease and Mrs World Australia has started contestants on the road to helping promote this cause. Mrs World Australia is not only different to other pageants for the age of contestants it attracts, this pageant is contributing to a charity with honesty and integrity.

All the strength you need to achieve anything is within you, as Sarah Henderson believed. Awareness programs that save lives by alerting women and health professionals to the early symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer are a good start. Having the opportunity to participate in this noteworthy cause – Ovarian Cancer Australia – and being able to encourage further awareness through Mrs World Australia, is a once in a life time opportunity. There are many women, children, partners and loved ones that have been affected by ovarian cancer. When you can open your eyes in the morning knowing that you have taken a step forward in supporting a charity that means something to you, and can make a difference to one person, it was worth it. Often the manner of giving is worth more than the gift and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person for their support in my quest.

My experience as a participant in the Mrs World Australia competition has been wonderful. I was so unaware about ovarian cancer until I began to research the statistics, and read about other women’s experiences. I have spent the last months talking to everyone I know, and having casual conversations about the symptoms, and statistics of ovarian cancer. I have become very passionate about this cause, and feel a huge desire to LET EVERYONE know about this disease, with the aim of increasing early detection and survival rates. It was lovely to work with Karen and Michelle from Lets talk Entertainment. I loved reading about the other participants who entered this years Mrs World Australia , and wish them all the best!

I would like to thank you and everyone at Mrs World Australia for allowing me to take part in a truely inspirational competition. It is great that Mrs World Australia is so much more than a beauty pageant, and that we were able to learn so much about Ovarian Cancer, so that we are able to raise awareness of such an important issue that effects so many fo us. I hope that through the work we have all done throughout the course of the competition, that Ovarian Cancer is bought into the headlines, and funds generated to help research the cancer and that an early detection test is able to be found. I wish everyone of the ladies the greatest of success and hope that Australia can bring home the title - and crown - of Mrs World!

Being a part of the Mrs Australia Quest has been a life changing experience. Since my involvement a year ago so many personal and professional doors have opened.

What started off as purely supporting the great cause of Ovarian Cancer Awareness, ended up in my having a world title and two international trips to proudly represent my country.

Along the way I have met the most amazing and inspiring people, starting at the organisers of the Mrs Australia Quest, Karen & Rafael Sabarre and Jennifer Hunt to my fellow contestants, my amazing roommate Raewin, photographers, supporters, fans and Ovarian Cancer survivors. These are friendships that I know will last a lifetime.

On a self-development level I have gained not only the confidence to things I never would have tried before but also skills that has given me opportunities and will benefit my professional life tremendously.  The Maquest team has gone out of their way to help me gain opportunities that they knew I inspired to.

But to me there is something deeper that has touched me through this time and that is to be role model for other ladies out there. Having a title that loudly supports a great cause means that you become someone that people respect and look up to and this creates a bigger platform in which we can share our love and to the good that we all strive to do.

I have no plans of parting from the Maquest team nor the Teal Wings of Hope team any time soon and I look forward to a journey of sharing wonderful moments.
